Full Presenter Profile & Bio
As one of the nation’s most accomplished Paralympians, Ellie Cole holds an OAM and 15 Paralympic medals under her belt including the 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze she took home at the 2016 Rio Paralympic games.
At age three, Ellie’s right leg was amputated after she suffered a life-threatening sarcoma cancer. Rather than dwell on adversity, Ellie has instead shown an incredible ability to overcome challenges.
In 2012, after achieving great success at the London Paralympics, Ellie endured a heart-breaking double shoulder reconstruction and was faced with the possibility of never swimming again. Rather than give up, she fought and is now the World Record Holder in the 4x100m freestyle relay. Competing in Rio recently, Ellie earned 6 medals in the 6 swimming events she competed in.
With a brave story combined with her unrivalled sense of humour, Ellie delivers a story with modesty and a positive attitude that inspires any audience.
Ellie recently won Cosmopolitan Magazine’s ‘Sportswoman of the Year’ and was listed in the Westpac 100 Women of Influence.
