Sharon Bown, a seasoned advocate for resilience and posttraumatic growth, draws from a remarkable career defined by service, survival, and transformation. Raised in Tasmania, Sharon’s 16-year tenure as a Nursing Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force took her through profound tests, including deployments to Timor-Leste where she narrowly survived a helicopter crash and subsequent life-threatening surgery. Defying odds, she not only recovered but also ascended to command in Afghanistan by 2008.

With a Bachelor degree of Psychological Science, Sharon translates the cutting-edge research on resilience and mindset, illuminating strategies to transform personal trauma into catalysts for personal growth.
