As a chef, author and presenter, Dominique has dedicated herself to improving general wellbeing through her innovative recipes as well as to inspiring people to cook with fresh, local produce. She believes that everyone can cook and hopes to inspire creative cooking and build confidence in the kitchen.
With over 30 years in the hospitality industry and over 20 years of experience as a chef and restaurateur, Dominique is a well-known Food Advocate and chef in Australia. She shares her abundant knowledge, learnt from decades of experience, around Australia via public speaking, cooking classes, recipe writing, food styling and media appearances.
Dominique’s media experience spans over 17 years of working in Australian television and radio, including hosting and presenting on various cooking programs. This was kicked off by her appearance on “Ready, Steady, Cook”, where her talent for cooking was first discovered. Since then, she has appeared as a guest on “The Circle” and on Channel Nine’s “The Morning Show”.
In 2011, she published her first cookbook, “My Taste of Sicily”, where she shared her passion for cooking local produce from her beloved Sicily.
In 2019, Dominique sold her very successful café/restaurant, Putia Pure Food Kitchen, School and Pantry.
In 2022, she brought a real splash of the Mediterranean to Brisbane’s Northside through the launch of her latest project “The Urban Feast Cooking School”.
For over 10 years, Dominique has enticed fellow lovers of food, discovery and travel with her food and wine cooking tours, creating chef-inspired bespoke tours. She has designed her food tours based on her many years of travel and research, taking her clients to Sicily and its surrounding islands, Puglia, Spain, Sardinia and Corsica, using regional produce against an awesome backdrop of these beautiful locations. In addition, she has also created women-only tours of Morocco.
In addition to her tours and work as a chef, she has also showcased her skills as a food stylist for several magazines and publications. As an ambassador for several organizations, she is involved in recipe creation, endorsements and product promotion.
