Making cricket history as one of the fastest Australian bowlers ever

Former Australian cricketer Jeff ‘Thommo’ Thomson is widely regarded as one of the fastest bowlers ever. Alongside bowling partner Dennis Lillee, the duo were renowned for being one of the most feared and deadly combinations in cricket history.

Thommo made his Australian Test debut against Pakistan in 1973, and continued to collect achievements across his career. After bowling one of the fastest deliveries in history, and taking an incredibly 33 wickets, he cemented his legacy in the 1975-75 Ashes series as one of Australia’s legendary bowlers. He would prove this again in 1978 when he beat West Indian Michael Holding and Pakistani Imran Khan in the fastest bowling contest.

For his legendary cricket playing, Thommo was inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame in 2016.

After retiring from the sport in 1985, Thommo showcased his strong persona on the international stage as a professional coach, motivational speaker and media commentator. With years of cricket stories and personal anecdotes, he is able to connect with audiences by delivering inspiring keynote presentations.
