Tilly Lockey’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. At only 15 months old, she was diagnosed with the life-threatening infection, meningitis, and was given a 0% chance of survival. However, after amputating both of her hands, forearms, and toes, Tilly managed to survive against the odds, with this adversity only serving to fuel her determination. Now, armed with state-of-the-art Hero Arms, courtesy of a generous gesture from the Alita: Battle Angel team, Tilly embodies resilience and fearlessness.

Tilly’s story isn’t only about overcoming obstacles, but about embracing individuality and pushing life’s boundaries. As an Ambassador for Open Bionics, she travels the world captivating audiences with her engaging presence and empowering messages. In 2021, Tilly competed in and was the winner of the sixth series of the CBBC competition series, Got What it Takes?. She later hosted her own show at Sunderland Uni radio in 2023, and in 2024 was hosting the ‘Tuesday Hometime’ drive time show on Spark Sunderland radio.
