Paul Vasileff

Paul Vasileff is the visionary founder and creative director of ‘Paolo Sebastian’, an internationally acclaimed couture label renowned for its ethereal gowns and exquisite craftsmanship. A born creator, Paul began sewing at the age of three under the guidance of his grandmother, completing his first evening dress by eleven. By seventeen, he had launched his first fashion collection to critical acclaim, an achievement he still considers one of his most meaningful to this day.

Fueled by a passion for storytelling through fashion, Paul pursued private sewing and patternmaking lessons from the age of thirteen, followed by an apprenticeship with a traditional Italian tailor. He went on to graduate with honours from the prestigious Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan. Despite global opportunities, Paul returned home to Adelaide, determined to build a world-class couture house in his hometown, and that’s exactly what he did.

Today, Paolo Sebastian gowns grace red carpets from Hollywood to Kuwait, and have appeared on international TV shows and stars, including collaborations with Disney and designs admired by celebrities like Jennifer Lopez. With annual collections showcasing in Paris, Paul remains deeply committed to keeping his brand proudly Australian with all pieces designed and handmade in South Australia.

In 2017, Paul was recognised as the Young Australian of the Year for South Australia, recognising his role in championing Australian fashion on the global stage. He’s also received accolades like Designer of the Year at the Prix de Marie Claire Awards.
