Jarman Impey

Indigenous AFL Star, Resilient Leader, and Advocate for Reconciliation

Having been highly regarded within Hawthorn’s four walls for some time, Jarman Impey took his game to a new level in 2024. Highlights of Impey’s year included captaining the club during Sir Doug Nicholls Round and finishing on the podium of the Peter Crimmins Medal best and fairest count for the first time in his career.

On the field, the 29-year-old was at his explosive best, with elite pace, agility and skills with ball in hand. While off the field, the widespread admiration for his professionalism, leadership and resilience grew.

In 2024, the proud Yorta Yorta man was ranked above average in disposals (18.8 per game), handballs (6.2 per game), marks (5.6 per game) and tackles (2.4 per game).

Jarman Impey, a prominent figure in the AFL and Indigenous All Stars, has been a vocal advocate for reconciliation. Jarman shares his past experiences and discusses with his audiences how you can support indigenous cause and initiative. Jarman emphasises the importance of understanding our history, acknowledging the past, and striving for a more just Australia.

Over the past few years, Jarman Impey has openly spoken about his mental health and the impact that has taken in parts of his life.  Jarman is happy to share those lived experiences, on and off the field, and help raise awareness. Jarman has been involved in campaigns like "No Talk Day" with Beyond Blue and Triple M, encouraging people to talk about mental health.  Jarman emphasizes the importance of being mentally and physically healthy, as well as the value of consistent focus and consistent play.
