Associate Professor Dr Catherine Ball is a pioneering leader across international projects that utilise emerging technologies to address humanitarian, education and environmental needs. As a future-minded scientist, Catherine has taken on many roles as a speaker, advisor, author, founder and even company director in order to help enact greater change in the corporate sector.
With a BSc Honours in Environmental Protection and a PhD in Spatial Ecology, Descriptive and Predictive Statistics) from the University of Newcastle, Catherine has become an internationally sought-after advocate across the start-up, futurist and tech world. She has worked on a range of projects globally, including documentaries and industry-leading conferences, to advise on the use of new technologies across environmental and humanitarian projects. An expert in all areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Catherine is passionate about demystifying technology through community engagement.
Dubbed a ‘social architect’ from her colleagues, Catherine champions diversity and inclusion, bringing different people together to innovate and enact global change. She is passionate about empowering all members of society to protect their natural environment through education.
Catherine continues to support Australia as a leading expert in the advancement of ethically driven technological applications. She will play a pivotal role in the country’s adoption of the emerging Industry 5.0, continuining to advocate for a greater emphasis on community being at the heart of how we operate and curate emerging trends and capabilities.
