Mark Skaife

The most successful driver in Australian touring car history

Mark Skaife’s enviable reputation started over three decades of dynamic action. Mark has won five touring car championships and six Bathursts. He has gone on to be the most successful driver in Australian touring car history, even surpassing the late Peter Brock’s record of 37 championship round victories.

Mark’s love for racing began with karts as a teenager before he moved on to race cars at the age of 17.

His long association with Gibson Motorsport was launched in 1987, resulting in two Touring Car Championships, two Bathurst wins and three Australian Drivers (Gold Star) titles in open wheelers.

Moving on to the Holden Racing Team in 1997, Mark continued to sweep awards at the Australian Touring Car Championship for three years in a row, followed by four prestigious Bathurst 1000 wins.

Mark’s love of racing extends beyond the track, having been a part of HSV’s Product Development Committee, as well as being involved with track design and safety. Having announced his retirement from full-time racing in 2008, Mark continues to share his love of racing as a key player within Holden’s Racing Team.

In 2017, Mark was inducted into the Motor Sport Hall of Fame at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

Having an accomplished career in racing and business, Mark continues to share his passion and work ethics through his excellent work in the media. He regularly does keynote presentations, drawing upon his career to provide valuable insights to having a successful career.
