The Keep Cup Journey

Abigail Forsyth

KeepCup CEO and Order of Australia Medal recipient innovating in sustainable design

After a successful career as a solicitor, Abigail set up a chain of cafes across Melbourne with her brother Jamie. But upon realising how much disposable packaging is wasted in the hospitality industry, Abigail was determined to explore more environmentally sustainable options to serve food.

Not long after, she would introduce KeepCup to the world.

Beloved globally, the reusable coffee cups have helped prevent millions of single-use cups every day. With their bold and recognisable designs, KeepCup has become the standard for reusable coffee cups since its conception in 2009.

With offices and warehouses across Australia and the UK, KeepCup is looking to expand its operations into the USA to keep up with the global demand.

The brand continues to uphold its mission for environmental sustainability. KeepCup has contributed at least 1% of the global revenue for environmental action, and aims to be completely carbon neutral by 2025.

In recognition of her work, Abigail was the recipient of an Order of Australia Medal in 2021 for Outstanding Service to Sustainable Design. Previously, she was the Victorian HTC Start Up Award recipient from the 2012 Telstra Business Awards, as well as a 2013 nominee for Entrepreneur of the Year, and a 2015 inductee to the Australian Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame.

Abigail continues to run the global brand from KeepCup’s HQ in Clifton Hill, Melbourne, where she lives with her family.
