Lucy Bloom is a globally sought-after keynote speaker as well as a passionate photographer, author and award-winning leader.
After running a successful creative services firm for 20 years, Lucy took up the challenge of founding a new women’s health charity. As acting CEO, it took less than three years for her to build up a team and a positive communication strategy, which resulted in $7 million being raised for a network of hospitals and a midwifery school in Ethiopia.
Lucy has also worked on creative communication for some of the largest brands in the nation including the National Rugby League, Amnesty International, Boral and CSR.
She is now the CEO of Sunrise Cambodia which funds the work of legendary humanitarian Geraldine Cox AM.
Lucy’s photography skills and flair for writing has allowed her to travel globally, with a special focus on Cambodia where she shot images of the difficulty of maternity care within the remote rice fields.
In recognition of her impressive work, Lucy has received multiple awards including a Kindness Award from the Wake-Up project and the 2015 Women’s Agenda Emerging Leader in the not-for-profit sector award. She has also been nominated many times and a twice-named finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards, as well as been the first and only Australian to be listed in the World’s top 30 #socialceos.
She is also the creator of the world’s first childbirth education program written specifically for men, which is run in pubs across the nation, as well as authored the accompanying book ‘Cheers to Childbirth’.
