Full Presenter Profile & Bio
Damon Woolf has energy to burn, a gregarious nature and charisma in spades which makes him a natural when it comes to engaging an audience. He combines this personality with a knack for making conversation, successfully embedding your company’s key messages into his talking points to communicate them effectively. He is also skilled at identifying and articulating the key ideas from speaker presentations to allow him to ask intelligent, relevant and thoughtful questions following their appearance, or to reiterate in his own remarks that will reinforce your event’s overarching message. This is aided by Damon’s Type A personality which sees him thoroughly research your organisation and speakers so that when he arrives to the venue, he can converse with ease.
Damon’s career in marketing and communications has seen him work on major brands including Hilton, Nike and Heineken where he was selected as a national finalist for New Zealand Rookie Marketer of the Year at the TVNZ Marketing Awards. Prior to entering the workforce, Damon nurtured his love of public speaking through a number of engagements. Most notably, Damon was named the Massey University Under-21 Speechwriter of the Year at the age of 16, and he was a national finalist in the New Zealand Lions Young Speechmaker of the Year.
With an extensive understanding of the travel industry and marketing landscape, Damon is a subject matter expert in these areas. Most recently, Damon hosted a panel discussion on the growing importance of personalisation in luxury travel as part of Luxperience 2019 at Sydney’s International Convention Centre. He also draws on personal experiences and insights to talk authentically and sensitively about important social matters including mental health and the LGBTIQ+ community.
Damon was our host for the Luxperience Press Conference which brought together eight notable speakers from the tourism industry and 50 media from around the world. Damon was also our host and moderator for a panel discussion with four thought-leaders on the importance of personalisation in the travel industry. Damon, thank you for your contribution to Luxperience and of course for your energy and charisma! You were a fantastic MC and together with your extensive background in both events and travel, you played an integral part in the Program. You were an absolute delight to work with. I cannot express enough how professional, flexible and easy you were to work with. Thank you so much for a wonderful job!
