Meena Thuraisingham is an author, executive coach and leading authority in the area of People and Culture. An organisational psychologist by training, she runs a niche consulting practice, advising select global clients in the UK, Asia and Australia in Capability and Culture. Meena is also a regular speaker internationally on developing leadership talent through both an individual and organisational perspective.

Born in Asia and educated in the UK, Meena’s career has spanned Asia, Europe, the US and Australia, where she migrated to in 1988. This global life exposure and experience has helped shape her approach to developing the cultural fluency necessary today for leaders operating globally across multiple regions.

She now consults with CEOs, Investors and top teams on management assessment, succession, talent, and specifically the role leaders play in organisational and cultural change, integrating acquisitions and creating high performance teams. She also works with clients to develop the leadership and talent implications of their growth and value creation plans, assessing ‘fit for purpose’ leadership including preparing their leaders for effectiveness in new/emerging markets, and partnering with clients to strengthen their succession pipelines and build greater diversity. In the last decade or more Meena has acted as coach and mentor for numerous high potential executives and is currently on the executive coaching panel of a number of global companies.

Meena’s first book, published in 2007, was Careers Unplugged, a resourceful guide to the choices facing aspiring executives in search of their ‘career sweet spot’. Her second book, Derailed! What Smart Executives do to Stay on Track’ was published in 2010. Both books are now used in business schools and corporations around the world. Meena has just published her new book The Secret Life of Decisions: How unconscious Bias Subverts Your Judgement.  She also regularly contributes to various international publications, newspapers and journals.

Until April 2005, she held the position of Head of Leadership, Talent and Diversity for ANZ Banking Group, where she contributed to the leader-led “Breakout” transformation program, working closely with the Management Board on the role leaders were required to play in the change. Prior to that, she was Head of HR for the Global Institutional & Corporate Banking division of ANZ Bank, where she worked on several change initiatives to create a distinctive relationship banking platform and talent led change.

Through her career both in Corporate and Consulting roles she has used a unique model of change, working at multiple levels to embed change through skilling up leaders in their ability to work through and drive complex change

During her 30 year career, Meena has held roles with and consulted for companies as diverse as Intel Corporation, Exxon, HSBC, Credit Suisse, Westpac Banking Corporation, Ernst and Young, Jones Lang LaSalle, MARS, John Lewis Partnership, Telstra and AMP. During this time she has also undertaken a range of projects for these clients across Asia, South Asia and the Middle East, building her experience and understanding of cross cultural challenges.

She speaks at numerous International forums on leadership development and culture change and has published papers on the subject.

Meena plays an active role in the Not For Profit sector and has served on several Not For Profit boards.

Meena holds an Honours degree in Psychology from Manchester University, and a post graduate degree in Organisational Studies from the now Manchester Metropolitan University. In 1999 she attended the Senior Executive Program at the London Business School. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and a graduated member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Meena is an accredited executive coach, trained by the US based Center for Creative Leadership with whom she worked as an executive coach for a number of years via their Singapore Campus
