Amplifying Indigenous and Queer Voices Through Media, Storytelling and Stage

Matty Mills is a proud Indigenous Australian, known for his presenting and hosting roles, advocacy work, fitness-based lifestyle and unforgettable persona described as “sparkly”. He has a lustrous career working within the media industry as a Presenter for television and radio. From his role as an entertainer reporter for NITV to his freelance reporting for Channel Nine’s Getaway and the TODAY Show, his energy is infectious. 

Further to this, he made his main stage debut in Acting at Sydney Theatre Company in 2022 and in 2023 performed as a lead in Blaque Showgirls written by Nakiah Lui at Griffin Theatre Company.

Matty has also taken centre stage as host for the ARIA Awards Red Carpet, The Dreamtime Awards, Pride in Sports Awards, and most recently the Australian Commercial Radio Awards. Matty won for Best New Talent at the ACRAS in 2023 and took out the Champion Award at the Australian Podcast Awards 2024. Further to this, He also took position at the right hand of renowned film maker – Baz Luhrmann, becoming his executive assistant whilst on the set of Elvis.

Matty is a huge advocate for the queer and Indigenous community – using his weekly podcast “First Things First” to advocate for First Nations representation in mainstream media, alongside his co-host Brooke Blurton. Further to his Media and Acting work, Matty uses his socials to showcase his media work, advocacy and his healthy lifestyle, while giving a glimpse into his personal life.
