Emergency Physician and High-Pressure Teamwork Expert Bridging Medicine and Leadership

Dr Emma West is a senior emergency physician at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Director of Education at the RMH Emergency and Trauma Centre. She is passionate about teaching and is an experienced examiner with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. Emma trains critical care teams to perform under pressure, maintain situational awareness, and resolve conflicts collaboratively. She also collaborates with corporate groups—including PwC, Judo Bank, and Boston Consulting Group—translating trauma room skills into leadership and teamwork strategies.

Emma possesses extensive media experience, having played a central role across six seasons of Channel 9’s Emergency, and featured on The Today Show, 60 Minutes (with two feature interviews), and most recently on Sam Pang Tonight.

A strong advocate for women in emergency and trauma medicine, Emma is dedicated to amplifying female voices in this traditionally male-dominated field. She believes joy, connection, and strong relationships are at the heart of teams that thrive under pressure.
