Full Presenter Profile & Bio
Denise Scott is a legendary Comedian/Broadcaster/Writer/Actor/Presenter that can entertain at your corporate event!
Denise first started working as a professional actor and comedian nearly thirty years ago, but it has been in the last six years that Scotty has been selling out theatres, scored herself regular gigs on high rating national television shows and saw her two books creeping towards best seller status.
In 2004, Scotty received a Barry Award nomination for Best Show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for her sold out festival hit, ‘Scotty and Son’, which featured her 19 year-old son. In 2009 she penned a memoir, ‘All That Happened at Number 26’, which became a national best seller as well as another hit tour with sell out seasons in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Sydney Opera House. It was reprised in 2010 with two sold out shows at Melbourne's Comedy Theatre.
Scotty released her first comedy DVD ‘Number 26’ in 2011, and started touring her new solo stand up show, ‘Regrets’, nationally. This tour saw ‘Regrets’ awarded the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Directors’ Choice Award and Scotty winning a Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performer.
Scotty has been and remains a favourite guest on many of Australia's favourite TV shows, including Spicks and Specks, The Project, Talkin' ‘bout Your Generation, The Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala and Good News Week. You can also see her as a regular cast member on Channel 7’s high rating drama Winners & Losers.
2012 was a big year for Denise. She returned to the Melbourne Comedy Festival with Regrets for another sell out season, made her debut (finally) at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and released her second book The Tour.
In 2013 Denise returned to our small screens with another season of Winners and Losers and hit the stage with one of her best friends Judith Lucy in a new live show, The Spiral, debuting at the iconic Princess Theatre during Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
