Moving from her background in journalism, Chris Ryan would take her comedic chops to the stage to become one of the most unique and refreshing voices in Australian comedy.
With topics ranging from love to office drama, fans have come to love her direct perspective which has featured in a range of festivals across the country, including at the Sydney Comedy Festival, Canberra Comedy Festival, Floriade Nightfest and TEDx Canberra.
Outside of the festival circuit, Chris has hosted and performed for many events across the country, including the 2020 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, the Canberra Writers Festival and the RSL &Services Clubs and Leagues Clubs Australia National Conference. Most notably, Chris has also performed for Australian troops in the Middle East.
Chris also has an extensive background in radio presenting. After co-hosting on Canberra’s 2XXFM breakfast show for two years, she continues to make regular appearances on ABC Radio Canberra and ABC Radio Sydney’s Thank God It's Friday with Richard Glover.
Adapting to the 2020 restrictions, Chris produced her online series ‘Chats with Mum’ after teaching herself an animation software. The unscripted series grew an online following as fans grew to love Chris’ outrageous conversations with her mum.
Chris made waves in 2021 when she debuted her solo show ‘Big Hair, Big Dreams’ at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. After being nominated as Best Newcomer, it is no wonder she was able to also tour at Perth and Sydney festivals to sell-out shows.
