Paul Vasileff the visionary Creative Director and Founder of Paolo Sebastian, an internationally acclaimed couture label renowned for its ethereal gowns and exquisite craftsmanship. A born creator and learning to sew at the young age of three, Paul was initially taught by his grandmother where he completed his first evening dress at the age of eleven. Vasileff was fascinated by the inner workings and underpinnings of garments. With dreams of one day becoming a couture designer, he developed his skills by undertaking private lessons in pattern making and sewing. By seventeen, he had launched his first fashion collection to critical acclaim, an achievement he still considers one of his most meaningful to this day, with raving reviews from both the public and press

Fuelled by a passion for storytelling through fashion,  Vasileff immediately began taking orders for private clients. He continued  his passion with an apprenticeship with a traditional Italian tailor. He went on to graduate with honours when receiving a scholarship from the prestigious institute Europeo di Design in Milan. Despite global opportunities and determined to build a world-class couture house from his hometown, Paul returned home to Adelaide, and that’s exactly what he did.

In 2017 , Vasileff was awarded ‘Young Australian of the Year’ for his work in founding Paolo Sebastian and its contribution to the Australian fashion industry. He was later awarded ‘Designer of The Year’ in the Prix de Marie Claire Awards. Vasileff continues to follow his dream, further developing the brand and business with an international clientele, annual showings in Paris, and adhering to the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Today, Paolo Sebastian gowns grace red carpets from Hollywood to Kuwait, and have appeared on international TV shows and stars, including collaborations with Disney and designs admired by celebrities like Jennifer Lopez. Paolo Sebastian has dressed the likes of Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Cynthia Erivo, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Heidi Klum, Sydney Sweeney, Adut Akech, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Rachel Zegler. With annual collections showcasing in Paris, Paul remains deeply committed to keeping his brand proudly Australian with all pieces designed and handmade in South Australia.
