Kay McGrath

Kay McGrath is an award winning journalist and presenter with 40 year’s experience in the media. She presented prime time news bulletins in Queensland for 32 years.

Kay McGrath has been on the front line of numerous historic events including the Fitzgerald Inquiry, the death of former Qld Premier Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen, the disastrous 2011 Brisbane floods, Cylones Larry and Yasi and the verdict in the high-profile Daniel Morcombe murder trial. She has interviewed Prime Ministers, Governors-General, Premiers, politicians and personalities.

Retired, Kay McGrath is committed to a number of community issues. A campaigner against child abuse, she is patron of the organisation, Protect All Children Today (PACT), and an ambassador for Act for Kids. For a number of years McGrath has also chaired the committee that organises Child Protection Week activities in Queensland during September. She is also committed to the fight against breast cancer, and is a vice patron of the Breast Cancer Association of Queensland.

McGrath has two sons.

With a special brand of warmth and humour, Kay is a sought after Master of Ceremonies, facilitator and speaker who is able to think on her feet. She has addressed major audiences in Australia and facilitated numerous conferences. Kay also works with the Australian Institute of Company Directors in a facilitation role.
