Harness the power of storytelling in your organisation

Whatever your focus: collaboration, training, leadership or even workplace safety, your audience will walk away with a new understanding of how to harness the power of storytelling in the organisation and how to avoid misdirection and miscommunication.

Kathryn incorporates interactive exercises and employs a unique storytelling approach to engage and entertain, drawing on hot issues such as brain rewiring in the digital era, perceptions of sexism, concussions in sports, GM foods, and the ripple effects of crime in corporations and communities.

Kathryn’s presentations are relevant to audiences in all types of organisations and industries and are characterised by her trademark humour and verve.

Some of the issues Kathryn’s presentations address:

  • She Said vs He heard.
  • One situation, ten viewpoints.
  • Ensuring your organisation sees the whole picture?
  • Are your colleagues characters or caricatures?
  • Injecting humour in the workplace.

A physician with a special interest in forensic medicine, she is the award-winning author of six internationally acclaimed bestselling thrillers. Her latest, COLD GRAVE, highlighted the underbelly of the cruise ship industry. This has led to Kathryn being invited to speak to media including the Today show and to write articles in major national newspapers to discuss the issue of victims of crime at sea.

Her books are now published in more than 30 countries, in over a dozen languages and always attract media interest.

Some of the world’s bestselling thriller writers such as James Patterson, Lee Child, Kathy Reichs, Jeffrey Deaver and Linda Fairstein are fans of her work and have praised her writing.

A passionate advocate for victims of violent crime, Kathryn has joined forces with authors and crime experts, Kathy Reichs  and Linda Fairstein, to form “GIVING VICTIMS A VOICE”, a worldwide awareness campaign about victims of violent crime, including domestic violence and sexual assault.

In response to the devastating poor health and illiteracy levels of up to 97% amongst indigenous people in Australia, Kathryn began the READ FOR LIFE Project in 2006. This involves empowering the disadvantaged with books.

Three generations, mothers and grandparents are learning to read along with their children using the simple mantra of:

Look (at what’s on the page), Talk (about what you see), Turn (the page), Learn.

READ FOR LIFE has expanded to not just rural remote areas, but urban areas in current need as well. The simple principle is applicable the world over. Since its inception, Read For Life has distributed thousands of free books, giving people hope and life, through one simple tool - a book.
