Re-defining the way Australians think about their health

As a heart and lung surgeon, Dr Nikki Stamp inspires all Australians to live healthier and happier lives. 

Completing a Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine with Honors, Nikki supplemented her Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Fellowship with training across Australia. Since then, Nikki has published research in a variety of academic journals, including the ANZ Journal of Surgery, Annals of Thoracic Surgery, and the British Medical Journal. 

An inspiration to all women in medical careers, Nikki is a prominent mentor and supporter of women in all professions. She was a big advocate for the Heart Foundation and women’s health, as well as a big supporter of the social media campaign #ILookLikeASurgeon.

Nikki frequently contributes her expertise to leading media outlets like The Huffington Post, Mamamia and The Guardian. She published her first book ‘Can You Die of a Broken Heart’ through Murdoch Books, and was also the host for ABC’s flagship science program Catalyst.

Outside of this, she has also made appearances on The Today Show, The Daily Edition, BBC World News and BBC Women’s Hour.

Chosen by Time Out Sydney as one of 40 under 40, she was also one of Mamamia's Inspirational Women You Can Look Up To. More recently, Nikki was one of Harpers Bazaar’s Women of the Year in 2017.

Committed to transparency in the medical profession, Nikki anchored Channel Seven's new program 'Operation: Live' in 2019. With a panel of experts and real-time footage, audiences were given the rare opportunity to observe operations as they were happening and interact with the attending surgeons involved.
