Al Baxter

Al Baxter is best known for playing Rugby Union for the Wallabies and Waratahs between 1999 and 2011. Al played in two World Cups and two Super Rugby Grand Finals. His presentations deliver a strong message on leadership and motivation whilst keeping things light-hearted.

Before playing rugby professionally, Al recieved degrees in both Architecture and Science from the University of Sydney. He worked part-time with Cox Architecture whilst getting into rugby professionally. It was during this time that Al sat on the Board of the Rugby Union Players Association and was a Principal of the sustainability engagement firm Sustainable Forward.

In 2011 Al retired from rugby, but that hasn't slowed him down. He has continued his work as an architect and is currently an Associate Principal at the sports architecture firm, Populous. It is here where he helps to design stadiums and elite sports training facilities both in Australia and Asia.

Aside from working as an architect, Al is also a Director on the Board of the NSW Waratahs, a Trustee on the NSW Government Statutory Authority, Sydney Living Museums (SLM), a Director on the SLM Foundation Board and a part-time rugby commentator for ABC Sport.

Bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience, Al speaks passionately about hard work and diligence.
