Jane Gazzo

A household name in Australian music broadcasting

With an extensive presenting career since her mid-teens, Jane Gazzo is one of the most recognisable voices in Australian music and radio broadcasting.

Raised in Melbourne with an Arts, Media and Drama education from La Trobe University, Jane quickly joined the media industry as a foreign correspondent for Britain's Q magazine. She continued exploring her interests in media, having appeared in short films, TV adverts and music videos. She was also a regular on the improv circuit with ImprovAustralia.

Jane got her start in radio presenting for the Melbourne radio station 3RRR-FM. After impressing producers with her natural talent, she went on to present nationally on Triple J and Triple M. Outside of Australia, Jane was also heavily involved in the UK’s broadcasting scene, presenting for BBC 6 Music.

Since then, she has become a staple of music television programs, hosting ABC’s Recovery, BBC’s Play Loud and ITV’s The Metal Hammer Awards. Jane also hosted the first ever Sound and Vision music memorabilia auction event at London’s Abbey Road Studios to support Cancer Research UK.

In 2007, Jane joined FOXTEL as a full-time host for Channel [V]. She provided insightful reporting from leading music events around the world, including at the ARIA Red Carpet, Splendour In The Grass, The Big Day Out and Soundwave.

Some of her career highlights have included producing Russell Brand’s ill-fated radio show in London, sharing a memorable week with Courtney Love in an Earls Court flat, and broadcasting from Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Birthday Jubilee. Jane has also interviewed many of the world’s leading artists, including Ke$ha, David Hasselhoff, Rick Astley, Marilyn Manson, Paramore and Sir Elton John.

As a writer, Jane was commissioned by Random House Penguin Australia to write a biography of John Farnham. Released in 2015, the book sold over 10,000 copies nationwide.

A beloved media personality, Jane has been nominated for an ASTRA Award in 2011 and 2012 for Favourite Female TV Personality. She was also nominated for an ACRA Award in 2018 and 2019 for Best Syndicated Show for Triple M’s My Generation.

In recent years, Jane continues to build on her career with a newly launched Youtube channel ‘Recovered’. A collaboration with Dylan Lewis, the duo hopes to showcase the best of contemporary musicians. She has also seen remarkable success with her new ABC TV documentary ‘Recovery: The Music and Mayhem’, which became the most watched factual show on ABC IVIEW. She is still a regular guest for Australian programs like The Project and ABC Radio.

Jane remains a popular presenter and MC, having hosted local events for Visit Victoria, Melbourne Music Week, Federation Square Live, Hilton Hotel Group and Melbourne University.
