Traditional Dancers

A Traditional Australian Aboriginal dance troupe who are passionate about sharing their rich culture with the world

The directors of this Aboriginal dance troupe are descendants of the Nunukul, Yuggera, Yugimbir and Nugi tribes. They’re internationally acclaimed traditional/ contemporary Australian Aboriginal performers, and have toured France, Greece, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Korea, New Zealand, and Holland, to name a few.

Some of their most outstanding performances include dancing for the Queen of England at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting (CHOGM), as well as during the Olympic Games in Sydney for the Prince and Princess of Belgium (2000).

They have gained a plethora of experience through their performances at Citizenship Ceremonies, the Departmental Heads of Government, both internationally and nationally, and Local levels at highly accessed tourist venues (Mirrabooka Aboriginal Cultural Experience), as well as in the ARC Dreaming in traditional/ contemporary theatre performance, where they did shows both locally globally.

Nugi are the Aboriginal people of Moreton Island, who are known in the language group as Mugumpin. The Nugi relocated in the settlement times to Stradbroke Island, Cherbourg, and other areas, yet they have still been able to maintain their rich cultural heritage with one of the most beautiful languages spoken in the southeast. They are passionate about spreading their culture and keeping their heritage alive, through sharing their traditional dances with the world.
